We are very proud to be hosting one of the Assos Speed Club rides this year and it promises to be an excellent event. At the heart of it all is a friendly group ride around Snowdonia, but as you can see, this is a lot more than your average club ride.

All attendees will be have the chance to grab a tea or coffee before the event, stock up on some ride nutrition courtesy of Veloforte, and then head out on a beautiful ride around Snowdonia.

Once back, whilst enjoying some free coffee and cake, you will also get the first opportunity to lay your hands on a limited edition Assos Speedclub Jersey, and one lucky attendee will win one of these jerseys, worth £175!

At the end of the event everyone will be given a limited edition Assos water bottle, and be eligible for a 15% discount voucher on your next Assos purchase*.

To register for the event please e-mail gareth@wecycle.co.uk with the subject line “assos speed club”.

Route details:

Wheels roll: 9am, Saturday 10th September

Distance: 83km (52 miles)

Elevation: 1,120m (3670ft)

Pace: 26kmh (16mph) – No drop

Start / Finish: We Cycle, Conwy Road, Llandudno Junction. LL31 9BA

Description:

After a quick caffeine hit we will roll out from We Cycle towards Conwy. We will roll through the beautiful medieval Castle, and on to the climb up to the top of the Sychnant Pass. The reward for the climb is the view from the top before rolling down into Penmaenmawr then a relatively flat roll along the cycle route to the outskirts of Bangor. From here we will start to head South into Snowdonia and up towards Llyn Ogwen, taking in the Tregarth Tunnel, and then the old road up to Ogwen (with a chance to give it some welly up the final climb!). After regrouping at the Ogwen Visitor Centre it’s a long fast roll all the way down to Betws-Y-Coed with the opportunity to either take a stint at the front, or sit in behind and have an armchair ride in the shadows of Snowdonia. From Betws we will take the back road to Llanrwst and along the valley via Trefriw all the way back to the shop. If some are feeling up for a little extra there will be the opportunity for a group to break off at Llanrwst, head up the Llanrwst hill and then along the tops, providing fantastic views of the Carneddau as a reward for battling up Llanwrst hill.
